Freijo Gallery

About Galería Freijo
Galería Freijo was founded in 2010 as a project focused on working with artists from different generations, of Spanish and Latin American origin, whose work has been characterised throughout the history of modern and contemporary art by experimentation, formal and aesthetic rigour, and by relevant and critical conceptual proposals. In addition to representing mid-career artists, and with the intention of underlining the importance of intergenerational links in a dynamic and active way, we work with funds: work by historical artists that has been acquired and in many cases produced by the gallery since its beginnings.
Since 2019, we have developed the LZ46 programme, focused on experimental curatorial projects, with the aim of exploring different ways of approaching exhibition practices as a gallery, as well as new ways of establishing relationships with curators, artists and collectors.
Parallel to the exhibitions, Galería Freijo carries out an editorial activity derived from research, deepening and dialogue with the artists. Today, the gallery has a space within its premises specifically designated to house the library, which constitutes a research and documentation centre open to the public.
We complement our activities through presentations of meetings, seminars, film programmes, talks and conferences.
