ARCOLisboa will once again become the great meeting point for international collectors, gallery owners, artists and professionals from 19 to 22 May. We have selected 11 Portuguese and Spanish galleries that you can't miss at the fair, meet their artists and collect their works of art.

3+1 Arte Contemporânea

3 +1 Arte Contemporânea was inaugurated in February 2007 with the aim of promoting the work of emerging and established Portuguese and international artists, whose works illustrate the diversity of contemporary artistic practice. 3 +1 is committed to its evolution and development as a gallery, promoting and supporting the projects of its artists both inside and outside Portugal, as well as internationalising our programming and participating in art fairs.

During ARCO Lisboa 2022, they will present a solo project by Tiago Baptista with recent works, installed in a site-specific structure in a non-formal way.

The gallery is based in the historic neighbourhood of Madragoa, which gives its name to the space itself and acts as a statement: the gallery's project seeks to establish a deep conversation with the city and its extraordinary potential, not only representing Portuguese artists, but also allowing the local production of each show, also of artists from abroad, establishing a dialogue between global artistic practices and local craftsmanship and ideas.

At ARCO you can enjoy the exuberant and colorful creations of Luís Lázaro Matos and the works created by Belén Uriel focusing on the use of domestic objects and their relationship with the human being for her creations.

Galeria Miguel Nabinho began in 2000 as a pioneering project in Portugal. Its exhibitions were held in spaces chosen by the artists themselves, so the gallery space (which was not fixed) would be the most suitable place for the works exhibited. It is one of the most prestigious galleries in Portugal and represents some of the most important, influential and valuable Portuguese artists of the last 40 years, such as Cabrita, Ana Jotta, Luisa Cunha, Eduardo Batarda, Rui Sanches, etc.

Among the artists to be enjoyed at ARCO are Pedro Cabrita, Pedro Calapez, Patrícia Garrido, Rui Sanches and Ana Jotta.

The Rafael Pérez Hernando gallery opened for the first time in 1996 in Madrid and moved to Calle Orellana 18 in 2004, where it began a line of exhibitions featuring emerging artists and established painters. The gallery works with rigour and coherence in its proposal, where colour, imperfection, light, emptiness and balance coexist.

At ARCO Lisboa, works by two of its most outstanding artists, Giorgio Griffa and Claude Viallat, are presented.

The Alarcón Criado gallery generates an exhibition activity that prioritises curatorial projects and proposals based on the development of new artistic languages with the aim of highlighting artistic approaches that address the models of contemporary thought and society.

In ARCO Lisboa have the pleasure of participating with artists such as Belén Rodríguez, Bernardo Ortíz, Cristina Mejías with works consisting of sculptures, drawings or mixed techniques.

The Ángeles Baños Gallery was born as a result of the need to give visibility to contemporary art in Badajoz and Extremadura, creating connections from Spain to Latin America as a characteristic approach.

Among the artists to be presented at the fair are the harmonious paintings of Ruth Morán, paintings by the Portuguese Susanne S D Themlitz and the characteristic drawings of Lura González Cabrera.

The Leyendecker Gallery was founded on 28 February 1979 by Ángel Luis de la Cruz and Lele H. Colomer. The gallery's programme is based on the representation and exhibition of international artists who make a significant contribution to contemporary art. Leyendecker also specialises in international avant-garde art. 

One of the artists we will be highlighting during the fair is Alberto Borea in a small tribute to the artist. At ARCOlisboa it will be possible to see pieces from his latest series, El mito de El Dorado.

Sabrina Amrani opened the gallery of the same name based in Madrid, Spain, in June 2011. French of Algerian origin, she was raised in a mix of cultures, traditions and habits that are common to most of the artists she works with. The gallery represents artists across East and West, bridging cultural gaps and promoting the exchange of dialogue and intellectual development through dialogue.

At ARCO Lisbon we will be able to see the works of the Portuguese Mónica de Miranda with photographs that explore the fields of urban archeology and personal geographies, or paintings by the duo :mentalKLINIK.

The Rosa Santos gallery opened in October 2006 with an installation by Valcárcel Medina. The gallery space is located in the historic centre of the city of Valencia. The gallery's programme is committed to contemporary visual art, showing special interest in the latest trends in painting, sculpture and drawing, as well as in photography, video and installation.

Among the artists we will be able to enjoy at the fair are Xisco Mensua, Marina González Guerreiro and María Ruido.

 

RocioSantacruz Gallery

RocioSantaCruz Gallery is a dynamic space for creation and contemporary thought in all its manifestations. Faithful to its trajectory since 1994 in Paris, as a publisher of artists' books, RocioSantaCruz's approach is to focus on unpublished archives with the aim of generating a dialogue between the avant-garde of the second half of the 20th century and new contemporary practices.

At the fair we will enjoy the works on paper by Mar Arza or the simple but elegant sculptures by Diogo Pimentão.

 

ATM Gallery

ATM is an internationally oriented gallery located in Gijón, Asturias. ATM focuses on the exploration and contextualization of the latest artistic trends through a comprehensive program that includes research projects and artist management in collaboration with other institutions whose objective is to deepen the contemporary visual culture. The gallery travels to ARCO with works by Susana Rocha.
