Artist Biography: Gulnur Mukazhanova is a Kazakh visual artist born in 1984 in the city of Almaty. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Almaty in 2008 and has exhibited his work in Kazakhstan and other countries. Mukazhanova's work focuses on exploring Kazakhstan's identity, culture, and history. In her paintings and drawings, she uses traditional and folkloric elements from her home country, such as ornamental motifs, fabrics, and carpet designs, to create contemporary, abstract images. In her work, Mukazhanova uses a meticulous and detailed technique, with a focus on composition and color. His paintings often feature a rich and vibrant use of color, which is combined with geometric shapes and patterns.
