Artist Biography:
Chiara Fumai (Rome, 1978 - Bari, 2017) is an artist deeply rooted with performance, magic chaos, feminism, terrorist propaganda and Italian Autonomous Marxism. Her work deals with social aspects and contemporary culture, taking as a starting point the manipulation of the media. Fumai in her work performs different identities of marginalized historical personalities, which convey characters hidden in history to revive forgotten narratives. Chiara Fumai, in her work, deconstructs gender ideologies that have prevented the empowerment of women. In her work she has investigated the issues surrounding gender and gender identities throughout history.
This work includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authentication value of the work of art. The certificate may be signed by the author of the work, by the representing gallery or by the printmaker who collaborated with the artist on the work.
