The social protests of the 1960s motivated many artists of this era to intervene press photos of wars, political demonstrations and various social upheavals. They mastered silkscreen, photomontage, collage and other photographic appropriation techniques. Fifty years later, Wayward returns to process photo-journalistic images, but this time filtered by the digital tool. The news images of the day are digitally manipulated with visual effects that evoke analog and photochemical techniques of the past. As a generative work, it stands out for its processual character, which is never finished due to the incessant flow of new news.
