Artist Biography: Madrid, 1930 - Madrid, 1998. He studied at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid between 1949 and 1954. A year later he made his first individual exhibitions. In 1962 he painted the Aránzazu mural in Guipúzcoa. In 1964, the Juana Mordó Gallery is inaugurated, of whose group of painters he will be part since then. In 1983, he was awarded the National Prize of Plastic Arts, and a decade later he was awarded the Gold Medal of Fine Arts. He died in Madrid on May 24, 1998, the same year in which he painted the mural ''Unfinished City'', 12x11.5 meters, for the hemicycle of the new building of the Assembly of Madrid in Vallecas. He was one of the great representatives of informalism in Spain, with works characterized by his work with wood, which he wears, paints, burns and molds, trying to explore all its expressive capacity.
