Artist Biography:

San Fernando, Cádiz, Spain, 1971.

Miguel Pablo and Manuel Pedro Rosado work and live in Seville. They are twin brothers who work under the name of MP & MP Rosado. They have been trained in Fine Arts at the University of Seville and at the School of Fine Arts in Athens.
Doctors in Fine Arts from the University of Seville, they are currently associate professors. Since the mid 90's they have developed a work based on the constitutive mechanisms of the discourse on the subject and its environment. Their twin, paradoxical condition allows them to explore duality and the alter ego, the construction of the self, individual and collective, "as an immense mirror in which we recognize ourselves". Perhaps for this reason, the most constant characteristics of their work have been the presence of the double, the ambiguity resulting from duplication, reflection and simulated repetition. Other characteristics of his projects are the exploration of life experiences, the private emotional substratum, the relationship between form and surface, language and meaning, emotions, subjective choices.
Through all this, he has managed to create a refined universe of conceptual references. They receive the Pilar Juncosa & Sotheby's grant. Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró de Mallorca, for the realization of a project at that venue (2014-2015). Among others, they have resided at the ISCP International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York, and have been awarded with (Iniciarte) (2006-2007); V Premio ARCO Comunidad de Madrid (2008) and the IVPremio Iniciarte de la Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Andalucía (2009). Scholarship The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, New York (2002-2003); Scholarship of Plastic Arts of the Marcelino Botín Foundation of Santander (2008-2009) and 7th Scholarships CAM Collection of Plastic Arts, Alicante (2009/2010) and VI Ibero-American Prize Cortes de Cádiz of Contemporary Artistic Creation 'Juan Luis Vasallo' 2012. City Council of Cadiz. They have been present in important international exhibitions and events such as the Biennial of Lyon, Biennial of Seville, Instituto Cervantes in Beijing, Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art (Seville), DA2 (Salamanca), MOT ART Museum (Tokyo), MUSAC (León), La Panera Center (Lleida), National Museum of
Fine Arts of Buenos Aires, Riihimäki Art Museum (Finland), Casal Solleric (Palma de Mallorca).

They are currently developing the project "Cuerpo de trabajo", thanks to the Leonardo Grant to Researchers and Cultural Creators awarded by the BBVA Foundation 2017/2018.
