Artist Biography: Eva Miquel is a contemporary artist born in Barcelona in 1970. She graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and has explored various artistic languages throughout her career, although her specialty and where she has obtained the greatest recognition has been in drawing. In 2021 he was a finalist in the prestigious Ynglada-Guillot international drawing award, which reflects the quality of his work in this discipline.Miquel has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Spain and abroad. In 2019 he presented the solo exhibition "Mutismos" at Palmadotze Gallery, where he showed his most recent work. In the same year he participated in SWAB, Barcelona, where he received two Acquisition Awards for his work. In 2014 she presented the drawing project "A escala 1: 1000" at Untitled BCN and in 2012 she exhibited at the Espacio de Creación Contemporánea de Cádiz in a group exhibition curated by Ignacio Cabrero.She has also exhibited at international art fairs such as ARCO, Artissima and DFoto, among others, and has been recognized with various awards and grants, such as the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation grant, the Casa de Velázquez Grant and the AECA Award for the best group of works presented at the ESTAMPA fair. In 2005 he was a finalist in the video art contest "Ingenio 400. IV Centenary of Don Quixote" and received an honorable mention in the "Generation 2005" Award. In March 2020 he presented the publication Desde El Agua with the publishing house Zahorí Books and in collaboration with the Red Cross, where his most recent drawings on the stories of migrants are included. This project reflects her social commitment and her interest in addressing contemporary issues in her work.During 2020 and 2021, Eva Miquel received several awards, such as the Sorigué Foundation Acquisition Award - SWAB Art Fair, the Carmen and Lluís Bassat Foundation Acquisition Award - SWAB Art Fair, the VEGAP Grant - Aids to Creation and the JUNCEDA 2021 award in the adult and children's non-fiction book category with the publication Desde El Agua. These awards and her career consolidate Eva Miquel as an outstanding contemporary artist in the current art scene.
