Palmadotze is pleased to present a new solo exhibition of Eva Miquel (Barcelona, 1970), artist represented by the gallery, who on this occasion will surprise us with a selection of her recent work, focused and materialized through the world of drawing and photography. After finishing her training and specializing in the technique of Print, Eva Miquel found in photography and video the languages that helped her to build her gaze. A look that later, in a stage of maturity, was seduced by the graphic qualities of drawing and that nowadays pays attention again to the possibilities of photography. Eva Miquel affirms that her work process is a back and forth between graphite and photography. The camera allows her to freeze that precise, poetic, magical and inspiring moment and then, in the studio, with an almost microscopic gaze, she draws the image on paper with a graphite pencil. The textures, the grays and above all the register of the stroke, give the representation a unique, original and different quality. Likewise, the drawing and its process, evoke silence, the same silence that transmits his works of disturbing landscapes, characters lost in contemplation or desperate crowds.
