The sculptures become images; when attached to the windows, the articulated monochrome paintings give rise to architectural elements or develop sculptural qualities. The photographs that appear in the installations open up endless spaces for memory and reflection. Nature appears in his work in an extremely filtered form, as a path to consciousness. The loss of nature as an idea of reference is the driving force behind Cabrita Reis's work. The artist sees architecture as a replacement and understands it as a mental discipline or a "reality exercise" through which we measure ourselves and the world. This requires a very high degree of precision.
