Description
Kiko Miyares - FAN ZONE II

Artist Biography: (Llanes, 1977) Graduated from the public University of the Basque Country, Kiko Miyares has been able to combine his artistic career with work related to this practice. The socio-cultural situation together with his technical and conceptual versatility encouraged the artist to develop his first exhibitions in Bilbao, as well as the possibility of being part of the assembly department of the Guggenheim Museum for seven years. These experiences have brought him closer to a conscious and serious praxis of a profession that he has been developing for the last seventeen years. With a pictorial background, his first exhibitions are dominated by drawing and color in the form of illustrations, the result of his imagination and personal inclinations towards narrative and the world of comics. Although comfortable in this field, his creative thinking and research capacity have led him to accompany his works mainly with wood sculpture, something that, today, has become one of his hallmarks. The possibilities of representation as well as the way in which the material behaves during the work processes are the main reason for all his work.
