Art fairs in autumn
Nov 16, 2021
In autumn and with the start of the art season, the contemporary art fairs begin, we tell you which are two of the most important ones and the relevant role that RedCollectors has in them.
ESTAMPA
From 17 to 20 October 2019
Keys to Buy art in art fairs such as Estampa.
Elisa Hernando, one of the most accredited voices of art collecting, gives us some keys to Buy art at the Estampa Fair, which starts on October 17 in Madrid.
On October 17th, the Estampa contemporary art fair starts, this fair has been taking place in Madrid's autumn for 27 years. Art fairs are becoming the most important selling points for the art market, but what should I know to Buy a work? Elisa Hernando, one of the most accredited voices in art collecting, founder and CEO of the art consultancy Arte Global and of RedCollectors.com gives us some recommendations to take into account if we are going to visit Estampa with the intention of Buy.
First of all, it is important to "look at the art without prejudices, without judging whether it is well done or not," as Elisa Hernando tells us. Of course, it is important to set a budget per work, or per year. If you want to start a collection, Hernando stresses that you don't have to be rich to do so, nor do all works have stratospheric prices, it is not the same Buy a photograph, a Print or a painting, or an established or young artist. What Elisa Hernando does assure is that "You have to Buy what you fall in love with, since you are going to live with that work for a long time" and go to professionals if you have doubts "It is better that the purchase process gives you confidence and you enjoy it until the work is in the place where you want it".
RedCollectors' buying advice is at no extra cost to the art buyer, Hernando explains, "we accompany you through the whole process and ensure the best price".
Elisa Hernando has prepared a journey through the imagination and creativity of the artists present at Estampa. Of course, it is worth highlighting the important presence of Daniel Canogar, guest artist at Estampa 2019, of whom Hernando says "He is one of the artists of his generation with the greatest international projection. Technology and image play a special role in his work".
Other artists recommended by the advisor are Luis Vassallo (Madrid, 1981), an artist whose origins are in graffiti but who evolved towards painting; Guillem Nadal (Mallorca, 1957), whose artistic work fuses the pictorial with the sculptural; Felicidad Moreno (Toledo, 1959), who investigates the relationship between light, colour and composition; Ira Lombardía (Asturias, 1977), whose production, fundamentally photographic, focuses on digital visual culture.
From RedCollectors.com they offer you the possibility of sending you a selection of works according to your tastes and budget, as well as to solve your doubts before visiting the fair just by entering their website and registering at www.redcollectors.com.
FIG BILBAO
From 14 to 17 November 2019
Consultant Elisa Hernando will lead the art buying advisory programme at FIG Bilbao 2019.
The initiative, called AcercArte, provides a selection of works adapted to the tastes, profile and budget of collectors or people interested in making their first acquisition.
FIG Bilbao reinforces its advisory service in the purchase of art with the incorporation of one of the most accredited voices in collecting, Elisa Hernando, founder and CEO of the advisory firm Arte Global and the platform RedCollectors.com. Hernando will be responsible for this initiative, called AcercArte, during the fair of the International Festival of Print and Art on Paper, which will take place from November 14 to 17 at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao.
This is a free, personalised art-buying advice service. "The fairs are becoming the most important points of sale for the art market", says Hernando, who together with his team will prepare a selection of works by the artists present at FIG Bilbao for those who request it. Each proposal will be according to the tastes, profile and budget of those interested. It is a completely digital service, which will also allow us to attend to requests from people who do not attend the fair. It is aimed at collectors and people who want to get started in this field.
However, RedCollectors will have a physical space in the Euskalduna Palace where the advisory staff will answer questions from the public during their visit to FIG Bilbao.
