Artist Biography: Evru (also known as Zush and Alberto Porta) is a Spanish artist born in Barcelona in 1946. Self-taught, he began to develop his work in the 1960s and became known in the art world thanks to his collaboration with the gallery owner René Metras. Throughout his artistic career, he has experimented with different techniques and styles, from painting to sculpture, through photography, installation and video art.In the 1970s, Evru immersed himself in the world of science fiction and fantasy, and began to create his own unique universe in which technology and imagination merge in works full of color and movement. In 1980 he adopted the name Zush and began exhibiting in major galleries and museums around the world. In the 1990s, Zush changed his name to Evru, an artist who defines himself as ArtCieMist, a blend of artist, scientist and mystic. His work delves into metaphysical and spiritual questions, exploring themes such as consciousness, evolution and the universe. In addition, he continues to use technology in his creations, creating interactive installations and video art.Evru's work has been exhibited in major museums such as MoMA in New York, the Pompidou in Paris, MACBA and MNCARS in Madrid, the Guggenheim in New York and the Ye Um Foundation in Seoul, among many others. His unique and original style has made him a leading figure in the contemporary art world.
