SANTIAGO VILLANUEVA - ellipse. ST
Technique: polystyrene, glass fiber, paint and lacquer
Artist Biography:Soft Touch Therapy Soft and tactile therapy. In German it could be gestalt. Word that names the form, the configuration, the ";everything" as the product of a perceptive and healing act. From that semantic place we can, then, begin the journey through each of these works. Artworks that are born as answers to those intangible emotions that have become, since the artist's childhood, an obsessively pursued goal: the creation of a language of its own in dimensions, colors and textures to understand reality. Naked, perfect and neat objects that appear reflective, instantaneous, fragile and lysergic, plastic and deformable. They speak to us of time, of pain, of bonds, of emotion. But they also silence, resign and hide. Touch and distance. Movement and freezing. Skin and resin. They become dialogue and silence. Provocation. Absolute. The volume here is not excused by its beauty, nor does it feel shame for being the fiber and heartbeat of human contradictions. On the contrary, it becomes an indispensable accent. As Barthes would say, a slight fold in which the page of life, the silk of language, has been pinched.
