THE LAST FRONTIER, THE LIGHT We live in a world of frontiers. Real and imaginary, geographical, political, linguistic, economic, economic. A world fragmented by limits, categories, barriers, boundaries; subject to tensions and forces that repeat themselves in every human being. forces that are repeated in every human being. Because the most obtuse frontiers, the steepest cliffs, are the ones that the steepest cliffs, are those that inhabit each one of us. All our potentialities, all the universe of realities that we could live, fit in the beats of a heart. heartbeats. Also all the gags that prevent us from achieving them, all our fears, our chains. our fears, our chains. That is our last frontier. A frontier that does not appear on any map, invisible and magnificent, changing, eternal. Unreachable and close. So far so Close. In this project, Lola Guerrera resorts to light as a metaphor of that last frontier. Recreating the immensity of the constellations (that last horizon of the known universe, overwhelming and seductive as the abyss), Lola Guerrera succeeds in suggesting that sense of isolation and fragility that haunts the human being. that haunts the human being. It is also a way of relating the infinite and the absolute. From the reflection on the ephemeral and or vulnerar le born a more introspective look, more abstract. A search for the essential. Taking light as his raw material, he returns to the origins, both philosophical and philosophical as well as material. By constructing galaxies and timeless spaces, the artist also reflects the terrifyingly intimate and personal. personal. In this project Lola Guerrera's work decisively takes a new path. It is not an abrupt rather it is a soft and progressive turn of gaze. The last frontier: ourselves. Text by Laura Castillo
