Artist Biography: Juan Genovés is a Spanish artist born in Valencia in 1930, known for his figurative pictorial work and his political and social commitment.Throughout his career, Genovés has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts (1985) and the National Plastic Arts Award (2008). His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world and is part of prestigious public and private collections.Juan Genovés' artistic style is characterized by the creation of large format figurative works, in which he uses a very personal technique of applying color through small brushstrokes that combine to form an overall image.
