Jaime Sicilia - MAR E07
Artist Biography:
Jaime Sicilia is a visual artist and architect born in Madrid in 1970. He graduated as an architect from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and developed his professional career working at the Richard Rogers Partnership in London, as well as in his own architectural studio.
In addition to his work as an architect, Sicilia has also developed an outstanding career in the visual arts, working on multidisciplinary projects that include painting, sculpture, photography and video. His work has been awarded and recognized internationally, being selected to represent Spain in the Green Building Challenge in Tokyo in 2005, among other achievements.
In addition to his artistic career, Sicilia has been a professor at the Antonio de Nebrija University and La Salle University, as well as a researcher in the FAME 2011 Project of the Government of Spain.
Sicilia's work is characterized by a great sensitivity to form and color, as well as by his ability to create balanced and evocative compositions. In his pieces, he often plays with the relationship between the abstract and the figurative, and with the interaction between the viewer and the artwork.
