Artist Biography: Born in Grado, Asturias, in 1986. He was initially educated at the School of Arts and Crafts of Avilés, where he learned to paint, and at the School of Art of Oviedo prepares his entry into Fine Arts, but finally decides to move to New York with 18 years. There he furthered his studies at The Arts Students League, and set up his own studio. In 2005 he received the XX BMW Painting Award in Spain, and in 2007 the Best Artist Award at the ESTAMPA Graphic Art Fair, granted by the Madrid Critics Association. In 2006 he participates as a guest artist in the XVIII Biennial of Painting of Zamora, along with Juan Hidalgo. In 2011 the Museum of the Abbey of Montserrat, in Barcelona, organizes a large exhibition of his work in America. That same year, as a result of two stays in Rio de Janeiro with Oscar Niemeyer (2009 and 2011), the exhibition Niemeyer by Fontela, in the center designed by the architect himself in Avilés. In 2014 he received the Prince of Girona Award for the Arts and joined the Marlborough Gallery, alternating since then studios in Madrid and New York. At the Marlborough Gallery, his exhibitions ''the River'' (2020) and ''Norte'' (2018) stand out.

- Keep works of art away from direct sunlight and any other source of heat (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging works of art near smoky and polluted areas (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We advise you to protect the paintings with a glass frame.
- Avoid sudden changes in temperature. It is recommended to keep the paintings in areas with an ambient temperature of between 18-20º and 50% relative humidity.
- If the work is to be permanently illuminated, we recommend the use of cold light bulbs. Use a soft feather duster for periodic cleaning of the work. Never use household cleaner.
