Artist Biography: Herminio Álvarez is a Spanish artist born in 1958 in Gijón, Asturias. He graduated from the Escuela de Artes y Oficios in Oviedo and later studied painting and Print at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid.Álvarez's work focuses on the exploration of the human figure and its relationship to the environment. His paintings and drawings often feature fragmented and blurred figures, creating a sense of constant movement and change. In addition, his work is influenced by Japanese art, especially Ukiyo-e art.Throughout his career, Alvarez has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums in Spain and abroad. In 1997, he was awarded the National Plastic Arts Award of Asturias for his contribution to contemporary art.In addition to his artistic work, Alvarez has been an advocate for art and culture in Asturias.
