Cristina Gayarre - Redhead XVII
Biography of the Artist: Madrid, 1975 Graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (1999), specializing in Print. She has taken courses of Print with Paco Aguilar, Julio León, Manuel Ayllón and Yoko Kataoka. Since 2016 she has been learning Sumi-E painting with Gloria Gallego and Yano Koro. She has been doing solo and group exhibitions for 24 years, highlighting her participation in fairs such as Estampa, Madrid, FIG Bilbao (International Festival of Print and Art on Paper of Bilbao) or Affordable Art Fair in different cities such as Hong Kong, London, Stockholm, Paris or New York. Gayarre specializes in the female figure and natural motifs, with a simple and personal style. The contrasts and duality of colors are always present in her works, trying to seek the exaltation of women through their shape and silhouette. Her work is clean, direct, reflecting different states of women always from a serene and calm point of view. She currently resides in Madrid, where she works on her work, focusing on the techniques of Print, watercolor and collage. In 2023 she published a book of illustrations and Yoga texts entitled Asanas.
