Artist Biography: Claudia Wieser is a contemporary artist born in 1973 in Freilassing, Germany. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, graduating in 2000.Wieser's work is known for its combination of art, design and architecture. He often uses materials such as wood, glass and metal to create sculptures, installations and interior designs. Her pieces have a geometric, minimalist style, and are often inspired by the architecture and décor of the 1920s and 1930s.Wieser has exhibited her work around the world, including shows at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Venice Biennale and the Berlin Art Biennale. In 2014, she was awarded the GASAG Art Prize in Berlin.In addition to her work in art, Wieser has also designed sets and scenery for theater and opera, including the Bavarian State Opera and the Frankfurt Opera.Throughout her career, Wieser has been recognized for her ability to combine the aesthetics of art with the functionality of design.
