Carmen Galofré - Still Life
Artist Biography:
Carmen Galofré (Minnesota, USA, 1959) is a painter, astrologer and teacher in both disciplines, her work creates a reflection on the human condition, that which defines us as people, that which gives us freedom and determines us. With the desire to know and understand life itself, as well as the complex relationship between the exterior and the interior, the artist defends the mastery of her craft as a greater freedom of expression, in which figuration and abstraction coexist in harmony, as well as tradition and modernity, to connect with the public, to excite and transmit what she would not know how to express in words. Carmen Galofré reflects in her work the constant yearning to paint the intangible: the air, the light, the atmosphere. Her palette is harmonious, with special importance of the color white in different shades that she uses with subtlety to achieve depth, transparency, brightness and volume. She graduated in Fine Arts from the University of San Jordi in Barcelona, where she specialized in drawing and painting in 1985.
