Artist Biography: Beth Moysés es una artista brasileña nacida en 1960 en São Paulo. Se licenció en Bellas Artes en São Paulo y se especializó en Comunicación Visual, realizando un máster en Bellas Artes en la Universidad Estatal de Campinas y un doctorado en Comunicación y Semiótica en la Universidad Católica Pontificia de São Paulo. Es una activista feminista y colabora asiduamente desde sus inicios como artista con grupos de mujeres contra los malos tratos, realizando trabajos participativos con una gran carga social. Su obra se caracteriza por abordar temas como la identidad, la memoria y la condición humana. Moysés utiliza una variedad de medios, desde la pintura y el dibujo hasta la instalación y la performance, para explorar estos temas de una manera profunda y conmovedora.La búsqueda artística de Moysés se centra en su propia experiencia personal y en la de aquellos que la rodean. Ha trabajado en estrecha colaboración con comunidades vulnerables, como personas sin hogar y mujeres en prisión, utilizando el arte como una herramienta para empoderar a estas personas y darles voz. A través de talleres y proyectos colaborativos, Moysés ha creado espacios seguros para que estas comunidades expresen sus propias historias y se conecten con su propia creatividad.Moysés también ha explorado la identidad y la memoria personal en su trabajo. En su serie de pinturas titulada "Memoria Inquieta", utilizó la técnica del frottage para capturar la textura de los objetos cotidianos y darles una nueva vida en el lienzo. Estas pinturas son una meditación sobre el paso del tiempo y la forma en que los objetos nos conectan con nuestros recuerdos y nuestra propia historia personal.A través de su obra, Beth Moysés demuestra que el arte puede ser una herramienta poderosa para la conexión y el empoderamiento personal y comunitario.
This work includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authentication value of the work of art. Recommendations for the proper conservation of works of art:
- Keep works of art away from direct sunlight and any other source of heat (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging works of art near smoky and polluted areas (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We advise you to protect the paintings with a glass frame.
- Avoid sudden changes in temperature. It is recommended to keep the paintings in areas with an ambient temperature of between 18-20º and 50% relative humidity.
- If the work is to be permanently illuminated, we recommend the use of cold light bulbs. Use a soft feather duster for periodic cleaning of the work. Never use household cleaner.
