Artist Biography: Susana Solano (Spain, 1946) is a Spanish sculptor. An artist of great international renown, she is considered the heiress of the Spanish sculptural tradition initiated by Julio González, Jorge Oteiza or Eduardo Chillida. The works of Susana Solano are part of an abstract tradition, understood as a chosen direction, a proposal nuanced over the years in oscillations of distance and proximity to the references of her works. Some works border on direct allusions to reality, while others are enclosed in an appearance of extreme opacity. In 1974 he began his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona. The great reception of his works led him to participate in major events such as Documenta de Kassel VIII and IX (1987 and 1992) and the biennials of Sao Paulo (1987) and Venice (1988 and 1993). He opened image to the best museums, art centers and galleries in half the world (Whitechapel Art Gallery in London, Skulptur Projekte in Münster and McKee Gallery in New York or the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco, to name a few) and has been awarded the Special Prize at the Henry Grand Prix Exhibition in Tokyo (1985), the National Prize for the Plastic Arts of the Ministry of Culture (1988), the CEOE Prize for the Arts of Madrid (1996) and the Tomás Francisco Prieto Prize of the Royal Mint, Madrid 2011. On the other hand, he has collaborated on different occasions with architects for exterior projects: José Acebillo, Ignacio Linazasoro, Hans Hollein, Francisco Torres, Victor Rahola, Javier Romero, Ferran Vizoso and Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra.

Recommendations for the proper conservation of works of art:
- Keep works of art away from direct sunlight and any other source of heat (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging works of art near smoky and polluted areas (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We advise you to protect the paintings with a glass frame.
- Avoid sudden changes in temperature. It is recommended to keep the paintings in areas with an ambient temperature of between 18-20º and 50% relative humidity.
- If the work is to be permanently illuminated, we recommend the use of cold light bulbs. Use a soft feather duster for periodic cleaning of the work. Never use household cleaner.
