Artist Biography: Ricard Terrénace was born in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, on July 5, 1928. Since 1959 he has lived in Vigo, where he died on October 29, 2009. He studied at the Escuela de Altos Estudios Mercantiles de la Ciudad Condal (Barcelona). He began in the art world as a painter and caricaturist and did not begin to practice photography until 1955 when he came into contact with members of the Agrupación Fotográfica de Cataluña. With Ramón Masats and Xavier Miserachs he holds his first photographic exhibition in 1957. At the end of the 1960s he abandoned the practice of photography. In 1982 he resumes his activity as a photographer and participates in several individual and collective exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He is considered one of the most outstanding photographers of his generation. Lately his international projection has grown thanks to the Vú agency in Paris. His photography, of a great coherence Theme and formal, has a subjective character that makes it identifiable even taking into account the diversity of series that he has been producing in recent years.
