Rebeca Plana - Untitled
Artist Biography: The work of Rebeca Plana (Valencia, Spain, 1976) presents a raw, modern and humanist world made by hand on purpose. It has a highly abstract character, sometimes calligraphic that invites you to create elements of structured composition with an improvised and wild air. A style, that of Plana, that recalls great figures of painting such as Hans Hartung, Pierre Soulages, Willem De Kooning or Franz Kline where the stroke, gesture and colour are executed in unison, while standing as the undisputed protagonists. It didn't matter if they were monochromatic paintings or not, just the texture they gave them and the stroke they immortalized in each gesture. She has a degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia and trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon and at the College of Spain in Paris. She presented individual exhibitions at the Colegio de España in Paris, at the Sala Gallera in Valencia, the Fernando Latorre Gallery in Madrid or the Punto Valenciana Gallery and has participated in collective exhibitions in spaces such as the Casa de Vacas in Madrid, the Espacio Ibercaja Torrenueva (Zaragoza), the Antonio Pérez de Cuenca Foundation, the Sala Parpalló, La Nau, the Caja Castellón Foundation and the Bancaja Foundation. Also at fairs such as JustMAD, ARCOmadrid, Arte Santander, ESTAMPA or Gante Artfair.
