Artist Biography: Perejaume is a Spanish visual artist born in Sant Pol de Mar, Barcelona, in 1957. He trained at the Massana School in Barcelona and has developed a multidisciplinary career that encompasses painting, sculpture, installation and poetry. Perejaume's work is characterized by his interest in the relationship between nature and culture, and his exploration of Catalan identity and the history of the region. His works, which often incorporate natural materials and found objects, seek to connect with the essence of the land and the Catalan cultural tradition. Perejaume has exhibited in numerous galleries and museums in Spain and abroad, and has been the recipient of several awards and recognitions, including Spain's National Prize for Plastic Arts in 2019. In addition to his work as an artist, Perejaume has also published several books of poetry and essays on art. With his innovative approach and his ability to connect culture and nature, Perejaume is one of the most important and influential artists on the contemporary art scene in Spain.
