Artist Biography: An artist of great international renown, he participated in the Biennials of Venice (1986) and São Paulo (1987 and 1991). He has exhibited his work individually in several galleries and museums, namely: Histórias de Objectos, Casa de la Cittá, Rome; Carré des Arts, Paris and Fundação Gulbenkian, Lisbon (1991); Petit jardin et paysage , Capela Salpêtriére, Paris (1993); Memória Involuntária , Museu do Chiado, Lisbon (1996); Campo das Sombras , Fundación Pilar i Joan Miró, Mallorca (1997); Studiolo , INTERVAL-Raum fur Kunst und Kultur, Witten, Germany (1998); Madre Agua, MEIAC - Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Badajoz and CAAC - Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Andalucía (2002); Artworks selected 1992-2004, Fundação Gulbenkian, Lisbon (2004); Piso cero, CGAC - Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Galicia, Santiago de Compostela (2005); Lugares de pintura, CAB - Centro de Arte Caja Burgos, Burgos (2005).His awards include the União Latina (1990), EDP Pintura (2001), Nacional de Arte Gráfico (Madrid, 2005) and AICA (2005).
