Artist Biography: Paula Anta is a Spanish artist and photographer born in Madrid in 1977. Her photographic series are based on concepts that she develops in situ, often using installations to construct the final image. Her work focuses on the relationship between nature and artificiality, as well as structures created by humans, history and travel. However, the main conceptual line of Anta's work is to show the cultural importance of each landscape in itself.Anta has been part of solo and group exhibitions since 2006, in Spain, Germany, France and Italy. His work has been exhibited in institutional centers such as CA2M, Tabacalera, Matadero, Centro de Arte de Alcobendas, Círculo de Bellas Artes, Real Jardín Botánico, Academia de San Fernando, Canal de Isabel II in Madrid, CCCB in Barcelona, La Laboral in Gijón, Centro Niemeyer in Avilés, Domus Artium DA2 in Salamanca and Centro Cultural Las Cigarreras in Alicante, as well as in several editions of the international photography festival, Photoespaña.Anta has received several prestigious awards and grants, including the Estampa Prize of the Community of Madrid (2016), Finalist in the VIII International Biennial of Contemporary Photography Pilar Citoler (2015), AENA Foundation Award (2010), special mention of the COMBAT Award (2013), MAEC-AECID scholarships from the Spanish Academy in Rome (2011-2012) and FormARTE scholarships in Plastic Arts and Photography from the College of Spain in Paris, the Artistic Creation Award from the Community of Madrid (2008-2009) and more recently, the Ankaria Foundation creation grant.Anta holds a PhD in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, obtained through the European Doctoral Program in collaboration with the University of Saarbrücken and the Universität de Künste in Berlin. He has taught and lectured at private institutions such as the TAI School of Arts and Entertainment, the CES School of Image and Sound, the School of Communication, Image and Sound CEV, as well as at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Cuenca of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, the Faculty of Fine Arts of Murcia, the workshop program of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, and abroad at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach (Frankfurt) and Cornell University in Rome.
This work includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authentication value of the work of art. The certificate may be signed by the author of the work, by the representing gallery or by the printmaker who collaborated with the artist on the work.
The information usually included in a certificate of authenticity is: name of the artist, details of the work (title, date, support, dimensions) and an image of the work.
- Keep works of art away from direct sunlight and any other source of heat (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging works of art near smoky and polluted areas (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We advise you to protect the paintings with a glass frame.
- Avoid sudden changes in temperature. It is recommended to keep the paintings in areas with an ambient temperature of between 18-20º and 50% relative humidity.
- If the work is to be permanently illuminated, we recommend the use of cold light bulbs. Use a soft feather duster for periodic cleaning of the work. Never use household cleaner.
