IVÁN CANDEO - Portrait of a gentle woman (attributed to Leonardo)
Artist Biography: Iván Candeo was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1983 and currently resides in Barcelona, Spain. Since 2004 he has been part of an independent study group composed of artists of different generations and in 2008 he obtained the title of Professor, with the Specialization in Plastic Arts, at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador, Pedagogical Institute of Caracas. She also studied in the Master's Degree in History and Theory of Plastic Arts at the Central University of Venezuela and in the Diploma in Contemporary History of Venezuela at the Rómulo Betancourt Foundation.In 2018 she received a scholarship to study at the Laboratory of Contemporary Audiovisual Practices, LAV Master's Degree in Madrid, and was a resident in the Colombian space Lugar a Dudas, directed by artist Óscar Muñoz.Candeo has had several solo exhibitions in galleries in Spain and Venezuela, including "Antes que, while, later" at the Carmen Araujo Arte Gallery in Caracas, Venezuela in 2021, "Novæ Andalusiæ. Unstable Observer" at the Alarcón Criado Gallery in Seville, Spain in 2019, and "Sin Acto" at the Carmen Araujo Arte Gallery in Caracas, Venezuela in 2018. He has also participated in several group exhibitions in Latin America, the United States, Canada and Europe, including the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of South America (BIENALSUR) in Cúcuta, Colombia in 2019.Candeo has received several awards, including the Armando Reverón Prize at the Biennial 65 Salón Arturo Michelena in 2010, the Venezuelan Association of Plastic Artists Award in the Young Artist category in 2012, and the second prize in the XII Edition of the Eugenio Mendoza Prize of the Sala Mendoza in 2013. In addition to his work as an artist, he also serves as a teacher.

- If the work is to be permanently illuminated, we recommend the use of cold light bulbs. Use a soft feather duster for periodic cleaning of the work. Never use household cleaner.
