Artist Biography: Hannah Collins is a British artist born in 1956, known for her work in photography and video. Collins studied at the London College of Printing and the Slade School of Fine Art in London, where she focused on photography.Throughout her career, Collins has worked on various photographic and video projects around the world, exploring themes such as architecture, cultural identity and collective memory. His photographs and videos often feature urban and rural landscapes, as well as portraits of people and communities.Collins has exhibited his work in a number of museums and art galleries, including the Tate Modern in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid. He has also received numerous awards and recognitions for his work, including the Spanish National Photography Award in 2003.In addition to his artistic work, Collins has taught at several institutions, including Yale University in the United States and the Royal College of Art in London. She has also worked on design projects, including the creation of album covers and set designs for theatrical productions.Her focus on cultural themes and her ability to capture the essence of the landscapes and communities she photographs have made her a highly valued artist in her field.The artist deals with the historical, the social and the political through everyday images, such as Floor of dreams. This work, made in La Mina, is part of an extensive project by the artist focused on this neighborhood inhabited mainly by the gypsy community.
