"Origin. The space of painting"
"Origen. El espacio de la pintura", by Rafael Canogar, and in the Refugio room "Bling Bling Romance" by Noemi Iglesias, this exhibition is curated by Semíramis González.
"My works want to be a field of experimentation to search for the essentiality of a few simple brushstrokes: metaphorical gestures of man's imprint on our reality; traces, furrows, like those of the Castilian farmer on the earth. Material experience of the man who leaves his mark on the world. And behind that reality, on the reverse side, fields of color like our eternal landscape of sky-earth, earth-air, horizons that have marked our spaces, and where it is reflected, on the methacrylate support, the veiling of our own reflection, the integration of our space as part of the same work" Rafael Canogar.
"Using the rose as one of the elements associated with the discourse of love and turned into a product of affective relationships by the romantic industry, a garden scenario with a perfect, meticulous, almost unreal finish is proposed to open a new perspective from which to rethink and question the establishment of romanticism in our Western society. The aim of the installation is to offer an atmosphere that invites the viewer to have an attentive attitude to perceive that which is not found in the outward appearance, but in the nature of things or in the substance of people."
