Artist Biography: Gonzalo Sicre Maqueda is a Spanish artist born in Cádiz in 1967. He graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and later obtained a master's degree in Fine Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in Spain, the United States and Latin America.Sicre Maqueda's style focuses on abstract painting, exploring the relationship between form and color. His works are a mixture of organic and geometric shapes, which create a dynamic balance in the composition. In addition, it uses a vibrant and saturated color palette that provides a strong visual impact. Throughout his career, Gonzalo Sicre Maqueda has received several awards and recognitions, including the Marcelino Botín Foundation scholarship in 1999 and the National Prize for Plastic Arts of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in 2001. He has also participated in several group and individual exhibitions, both national and international. In his work, the influence of artists such as Wassily Kandinsky and Kazimir Malevich can be appreciated, as well as Latin American geometric abstraction. Sicre Maqueda has developed his own distinctive style that has established itself in the world of contemporary art.
