Isidro Blasco - ARTEAGA

Artist Biography: Isidro Blasco combines architecture, photography and installation to explore physical and psychological terrains. Digital images and raw building materials are used to create large and small-scale architectural environments and three-dimensional reconstructions of neighborhoods, producing snapshots of urban landscapes that challenge perceptions. Isidro Blasco was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1962, and has lived in New York since 1996. The artist has exhibited worldwide, including Australia, Brazil, China, Austria, Portugal and Spain. New York venues include MoMA-PS1, Black and White Gallery-Brooklyn, Smack Mellon Gallery-Brooklyn; SIM Gallery-Brazil, Dominick Mersch-Sydney, Australia, Wave Hill in the Bronx, Espacio Uno-Reina Sofia, Alcala 31-Madrid. Numerous awards include sculptor in residence at the Spanish Academy in Rome (1991); Pollock Krasner Foundation Fellowship (2010, 1998); and Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship in Visual Arts (2000). In the United States, Blasco's works can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art; Whitney Museum of American Art; Queens Museum of Art; Tweed Museum of Art; Institute of Contemporary Art Chicago; and the Baltimore Museum of Art, among others. The artist maintains studios in Madrid, Spain; and Brooklyn, New York.

Recommendations for the proper conservation of works of art:
- Keep works of art away from direct sunlight and any other source of heat (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging works of art near smoky and polluted areas (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We advise you to protect the paintings with a glass frame.
- Avoid sudden changes in temperature. It is recommended to keep the paintings in areas with an ambient temperature of between 18-20º and 50% relative humidity.
- If the work is to be permanently illuminated, we recommend the use of cold light bulbs. Use a soft feather duster for periodic cleaning of the work. Never use household cleaner.
