ISABEL MUÑOZ - S/T
Artist Biography: Isabel Muñoz Vilallonga was born in Barcelona in 1951. From a young age, he was interested in art, especially photography, and began to study it at the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona.In the 70s, he moved to Madrid, where he started in the world of photography professionally. There she worked as a press photographer and portraitist, and began to develop her style, which is characterized by her constant search for beauty and the language of bodies. Isabel Muñoz has dedicated herself to portraying different cultures, such as African, Japanese, Spanish, and Mexican culture, among others. In all her photographs, the artist seeks to capture the beauty of the human body, its shapes, its gestures and its movements. In 1999, Isabel Muñoz received her first World Press Photo Award, one of the most prestigious international photography awards. He received it for his series of photographs "Transsexuals in Cuba." In 2004, he received his second World Press Photo award for his series of photographs "Holy Week in Seville". In 2009, Isabel Muñoz received the PHotoEspaña Prize and the Medal of Merit for Fine Arts. And in 2016, he received the Spanish National Photography Award, one of the most important recognitions in the field of photography in Spain.
