Marina González Guerreiro - St
Technique: Iron, paste, ceramics, rope, palmito
Artist Biography: Marina González Guerreiro is a Spanish visual artist born in 1980. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2003 and has since exhibited her work in various solo and group exhibitions in Spain and abroad.González Guerreiro's work is characterized by her focus on the relationship between the human body and nature, and the tension between the organic and the artificial. His favorite technique is watercolor, but he also works with mixed media, installations and sculptures. His works usually feature human figures, often nude, and natural elements such as plants, animals and landscapes, all fused with human-made objects such as machinery or mechanical contraptions. Through this combination, González Guerreiro creates a surreal universe of his own that invites reflection on our relationship with the natural world and the impact our technology has on it.Throughout his career, González Guerreiro has received several awards and recognitions, including the Artistic Creation Grant from the Botín Foundation in 2004, First Prize in the XXI edition of the Certamen Nacional de Artes Plásticas Universidad de Sevilla in 2007, and the Artistic Creation Grant from the Casa Velázquez in Madrid in 2015.
