Group exhibition

This series of pieces is part of a site-specific project developed with the aim of exploring and rethinking the concepts of temporality and the construction of images, generating a pictorial language based on the photographic process of cyanotypes.

The initial premise of this project was to think about how the representation of images can itself be material for production. For this purpose, I constructed a tool that I dragged across the floor of my studio and its surroundings. Each itinerary traversed determined a kind of vocabulary of registration. This allowed me to generate something from nothing (subtle scratches, dirt, leaves...) to explore ideas of resistance, lightness of contact and measurement of the body and its performativity on the move. To work on tone and colour saturation without using paint, I played with different time exposures, bleach washes and natural dyes. In the particular case of this series, I incorporated compositional and design elements of traditional Spanish tea towels.
