The Refuge of Astonishment
"El refugio del asombro", an exhibition by María Acuyo showing paintings of the order of the fantastic, combining abstract formations with figurations of fictitious landscapes, which introduce us to worlds that do not exist as refuges for all that is organic behind the astonishing.
With a series of works of great chromatic power, María Acuyo has generated a kind of organic compositions between ovals, glazes and masses. A whole imaginary that she has cultivated for years with an almost automatic technical skill based on her scientific training. Along with this, landscapes with a clear romantic and literary reference that she takes as a field of sensitive reflection.
