Artist Biography: Luis Mayo Vega is a prominent Spanish painter born in Madrid in 1964. From a young age he showed a great interest in art and began to study the specialties of Design and Painting at the Complutense University of Madrid. Years later, he would receive his doctorate in drawing at the same institution where he began his artistic training.Luis Mayo Vega has stood out as an outstanding teacher and is currently a full professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid. In addition, he has participated in several international fairs such as ARCO or Arte BA, where he has exhibited his works, and his artwork is in important collections such as La Caixa, Banco España, Caja Burgos, Albertina de Viena. His art has also been exhibited in public collections in Spain, such as the National Library in Madrid, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Marbella, as well as the Museum of Modern Art in Tunis, the Museum of Graphic Art in Cairo and the Museum of the University of Tokyo.Luis Mayo Vega has been recognized on several occasions for his artistic work and his contribution to the world of contemporary art. His style is characterized by a precise technique and careful use of color, which has allowed him to create works of great beauty and quality. His work stands out for the Theme he addresses, which is usually related to the human figure and nature, in which a deep sensitivity and a great capacity to express emotions through art can be appreciated.
