Biography of the Artist: Born in Madrid in 1981, Orrite holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid. He received the Ayllon Scholarship in the specialty of painting, with which he was awarded the First Prize. He likes to work on themes that evoke melancholy, solitude and silence. For Orrite, one of the most important things is to capture the light of a scene. His realistic and figurative style is transmitted through oils on canvas. Orrite is a frequent visitor to the Nordic countries, more specifically Sweden. His first visit was a turning point in his work. The painter instinctively connected with the tranquility, melancholy and mystery of the Nordic landscape and its people. These sensations and environment strongly mark his current work. Color, light and sensations with a special care in the effect of the movement of the brush and paint could serve as a definition to summarize his work. He has participated in multiple solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Paris, Brussels, Lisbon and Mallorca among others.
