Artist Biography: (Caracas, 1983) Currently lives and works in Barcelona, Spain. Since 2004 he has been part of an independent studio group made up of artists of different generations. In 2008 he obtained the title of Professor, with a specialization in Plastic Arts at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador, Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas. He studied for a Master's Degree in History and Theory of the Plastic Arts at the Universidad Central de Venezuela and for a Diploma in Contemporary History at the Fundación Rómulo Betancourt. He has also studied complementary studies of "experimental cinema" at the Aula Xcèntric of the CCCB. In 2018 she received the Scholarship to study at the Laboratorio de Prácticas Audiovisuales Contemporáneas, Master LAV, Madrid. In addition, she participated in the artistic residency Lugar a Dudas, directed by the artist Óscar Muñoz, in Cali, Colombia. Among his solo exhibitions: Hay un Goya en la sopa, Galería Alarcón Criado, Sevilla, Spain (2022); Sin Acto, Galería Carmen Araujo Arte, Caracas, Venezuela (2018); Correspondencias del Ultramar: Núria Güell e Iván Candeo, Sala Mendoza, Caracas, Venezuela (2017); Corte En Movimiento. Office #1, Caracas, Venezuela (2015) and Identity and Rupture, Casa Sin Fin, Madrid, Spain (2014). Candeo focuses and confronts the relationship between image, movement and history, managing to identify a series of contradictions and paradoxes. He does this as an intermediary who "passes" the images through various aesthetic devices of the gaze. He has participated in group exhibitions in various spaces in Latin America, the United States, Canada and Europe. Materials and care
Recommendations for the proper conservation of works of art:
  • Keep works of art away from direct sunlight and any other source of heat (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging works of art near smoky and polluted areas (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We advise you to protect the paintings with a glass frame.
  • Avoid sudden changes in temperature. It is recommended to keep the paintings in areas with an ambient temperature of between 18-20º and 50% relative humidity.
  • If the work is to be permanently illuminated, we recommend the use of cold light bulbs. Use a soft feather duster for periodic cleaning of the work. Never use household cleaner.
