Artist Biography: Guillermo Pérez Villalta is a contemporary Spanish artist born in Tarifa in 1948. He is recognized for his skill in painting, sculpture and architecture, and is considered one of the most influential artists on the Spanish art scene since the 1970s.Pérez Villalta studied at the School of Fine Arts of Santa Isabel de Hungría in Seville, where he was trained in the tradition of Andalusian art. Later, in the 1970s, he began to develop his own artistic style, which combines elements of classical culture with popular culture and contemporary art.His work is known for its colorfulness and geometry, which is inspired by architecture, nature and popular culture. In his paintings, Pérez Villalta uses a layering technique to create depth and texture, and features geometric forms, decorative motifs and architectural elements, often combined with everyday objects and human figures.In his sculptures, Pérez Villalta uses a wide variety of materials, such as wood, metal and resin, and often features abstract forms that suggest elements of nature and architecture.Throughout his career, Pérez Villalta has received numerous awards and recognitions, and his work is in public and private collections around the world. His work has been exhibited in international galleries and museums, including the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
