Claude Cattelain - "Glass Glass Fish Fish".
Artist Biography: Claude Cattelain (b. 1972 Kinshasa, Congo) Lives and works in Brussels, Belgian. Start studying Image Arts at Saint-Luc in Brussels, after Higher Studies in Illustration at the same University and Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Molenbeek, Brussels. His work has been seen in numerous group exhibitions, ranging from the Musée du Jeu de Paume in Paris for the exhibition "Soulèvement", the Villa Arson for the exhibition "Go canny", at the Mucem for the exhibition "Dance" or the Museo de Arte Reina Sofia for the exhibition "Zona de Mastizaje". Several personal exhibitions were organized, notably at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Calais and at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Arras, at the Galerie Paris-B in Paris and at the Galerie Archiraar or at the Maac in Brussels. His public performances have been shown in numerous places, ranging from the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, to Kanal Center Pompidou in Bruxelles, including the M kha in Antwerp, the Sainsbury art center in Norwich, the Poush art center in Aubervilliers and the Center Wallonia/Brussels in Paris. His work is notably part of the public collections of Cnap, Frac Picardie, Frac Occitanie, as well as the collection of the Wallonia/Brussels Federation. At the same time, since 2023 he has directed the Sculpture section of the Ecole Nationale d'Art de La Cambre in Brussels.
Two glasses head to tail, one on top of the other. Two fish each isolated in its own water. The waters mix little by little, the territories blend into each other and open up to encounter.
This work includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authentication value of the work of art. - Avoid sudden changes in temperature. It is recommended to keep the paintings in areas with an ambient temperature of between 18-20º and 50% relative humidity.
- If the work is to be permanently illuminated, we recommend the use of cold light bulbs. Use a soft feather duster for periodic cleaning of the work. Never use household cleaner.
