Erased desires,... is a series of paintings on product packaging. The making of these paintings involved patience and slowness, involving technically an important manual work : the packaging was previously sanded to neutralize the original surface satin of the printing inks, then bleached with successive layers of tempera before being totally or partially repainted in its final composition. Particular attention is paid to the proportions of the packaging, to the die-cutting pattern of the carton. Colors and tones are combined on different planes, according to the volume of the object. The texture of the gouache gives a glimpse of the multiple layers applied as well as the structure of the brushstrokes, cohabiting with the luminous intensity of the color. The paintings and collages show any abstract compositions, like " ready-mades " reappropriated, deployed in two dimensions, or affirming themselves in their three dimensions as erased, bleached and subjectively recolored merchandise. This may be a way of closing the circle of the contradictions of the situation we live in, in a certain way, between complicity and resistance.
