Forget princess, call me president

The exhibition Forget princess, call me president by the artist Verónica Ruth Frías is based on feminist positions and issues that affect women in contemporary societies, taking up the spirit of the struggle for sex/gender equality, and inspired by the African-American movement, and the feminist struggles of the 60s and 70s and more recent ones, such as the Me too movement.
A multidisciplinary exhibition composed of a series of photographic works, videos documenting performances, installations, objects, as well as two-dimensional pieces of texts with slogans, with which she elaborates a visual discourse that is at once feminist political, poetic and aesthetic. Her themes range from gender violence, to the need to put an end to the discrimination suffered by
women, to identity self-affirmations, to the importance for women of knowledge and the construction of thought, to the hope for a new future of strong and empowered women.
