Rosa Muñoz - House in Llanes
Technique: Lambda printing on RC pepel
Artist Biography: Outstanding Spanish artist and crucial representative of staged photography (or constructed photography) in our country. She has pursued her entire career from Madrid, her city of birth and residence. She has a long trajectory of collective and individual exhibitions, both national and international. Rosa Muñoz's work can be found in countless art collections, both private and public. Among the latter, we can highlight those of the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Gas Natural Fenosa (MACUF), Centre Nacional d`Art Georges Pompidou (Paris), Comunidad de Madrid, Colección Estampa and the Museo Municipal Cuartel del Conde Duque in Madrid. His works also belong to collections of great prestige such as those of Pilar Citoler, CEART and Canal De Isabel II.Rosa Muñoz, one of the greatest exponents of constructed photography, in which her first works are inscribed, has not ceased throughout her artistic career to experiment and push her own language, overflowing it and conquering a third dimension. Rosa Muñoz's work shows a continuous decontextualization of objects and spaces. They are tamed exterior places or demolished interiors, always inhabited despite the invisibility of their dwellers. Inhabitants evoked through furniture in inexplicable contexts, discordant with which the artist makes a social critique of the moment. The artist establishes her own rules to deconstruct the scene incessantly and reconvert it into an impossible, into a new and personal story.
