Backstop
Richard Serra continues to produce rigorous and intense Prints . His two new compositions, titled Backstop, combine Print and the use of paint sticks in a double panel that explores mass and balance, as is often the case in his sculpture.
In addition to these new works, he exhibits several Prints of the Composite suite, conceived in 2018-19, whose printing was delicate and required many months of effort. They combine aquatint and paint bar applied by screen printing to produce a texture with impressive density.
