Amor vacui

Fernando Pradilla Gallery presents Amor Vacui, the second solo exhibition in our galleries by artist Óscar Abraham Pabón (San Juan de Colón, Venezuela, 1984), who on this occasion has selected two recent projects that illustrate his conceptual and aesthetic concerns about contemporary art, modernity, the appropriation and reconfiguration of elements of everyday life, and the space inhabited by human beings in interrelation with their context. Nereides paintings and Amor Vacui, are these two proposals in which Pabón directs his interest in sculpture, philosophy and public space.

With Amor vacui, Pabón proposes a play on words with the Latin expression used in the history of art of horror vacui, referring to the obsessive need to fill empty spaces, pretending that amor vacui can be understood as the opposite tendency, an attraction for the absence of images or objects on the surface or empty space.
