In Praise of Appearance
Elogio de la apariencia is Nono Bandera's second solo exhibition at Trinta gallery, expanding the work developed in recent years, where the presence of ceramics has been a turning point in his most recent artistic projects. In the upper space, Bandera presents a selection of 48 drawings from the series Las imágenes y las cosas (made between 2018 and 2021) and a set of small-format ceramics that make up the project entitled Bastidores doblados en el jardín. Both series have been used by Juan Fernando de La Iglesia for the creation of a text that will form part of the catalogue-work in a limited edition of 150 copies, which will be published at the end of November.
On the ground floor, works in polychrome wood and oil are exhibited alongside recently produced ceramics in which the use of trompe l'oeil has become the cornerstone of this artistic project.
