Sfhir - Illegal Art)
Artist Biography:
Sfhir is a graffiti artist, urban artist, muralist, three-dimensionalist, experimentalist and many other isms. In a continuous search for perfection I have experimented with a multitude of techniques, chiseling every detail in a laborious, almost obsessive way, to achieve the crudest hyperrealism. Dissecting reality and capturing it in a graphic, overwhelming way, through an acid and sometimes bleeding filter, with themes as varied as nature, the human being or iconography related to consumer society, has been and is his goal.
Through the mirror addresses a reflection on identity in an intercommunicative game with the visitor. The characters of this series are contemplated in an introspective way, is there a more intimate act than a human being observing his own reflection, modulating his gesture, deciphering himself? The mirror offers us a chimera: the promise of conceiving how the gaze of others looks upon us. Is there anything more shameful than to be discovered observing ourselves when we think we are alone? The spectator participates as a vouyeur subject, and in this attempt to read the other, he also reflects himself. Magical, narcissistic, sinister objects, mirrors that we try to deceive, that give us back our own image in a merciless way, and that are unequivocal proof of our own conscience.
